Canatara Park in Sarnia, Ontario is a fully inclusive space that invites all ages and abilities. In addition to the unique and fully inclusive playground, the Park was designed to become a Community Hub with opportunities to play, relax and spend time together for all members of the community. The park includes an area for table games, a presentation stage and adult fitness area in addition to ample seating throughout.
This site is recognized as National Demonstration Site for play standards encouraging play for all, including inclusive play, earning both PlayOn! And Me2: 7 Principles of Inclusive Playground Design accreditations.
The playground features fun equipment for all abilities, including a Rock n Raft for children of all abilities to imagine exploring the open seas and foster friendships with seating for 6, as well as room for a person using a mobility device to fit comfortably. Accessible by ramp, the Rock N Raft gently glides as passengers cooperatively shift their weight or push the outside to achieve momentum.
The playground also features a Sensory Dome, a fun, freestanding play activity for children of all abilities. The mix of materials, along with varied routes of travel while climbing make this a versatile climber for your playground.
