Legacy Park in Lethbridge, Alberta features Canada’s first Challenge Course. The course features 11 obstacles across a 5,000-square foot course.
David Ellis, Parks Manager for the City of Lethbridge says of the park, “The challenge course is one way we can engage the young demographic and keep them active in our parks.”
It also includes a professional-grade timing system with scoreboard so users can see how fast they completed the course so we added a 40-Yard Dash to support a little friendly competition with timed races. Because a Challenges Course like this is designed to promote fun, friendly competition and healthy activity for people of all generations and fitness levels it is easy to see it will be part of a lasting legacy the community can hand down to residents for years to come.
As Alberta Premier Rachel Notley, who was on hand for the grand opening of the Challenge Course at Legacy Park, said, “Strong communities are communities that are built for people and families. This park not only makes this community stronger, it makes life better for everyone.”
